Activity

Public Opinion Research Unit, was founded in 2007, in order to systematize data-collection process.
Since 2007 Public Opinion Research Unit (PORU) has developed the appropriate framework in order to implement research projects from fieldwork (data collection) to analysis. PORU has cooperated with major news networks, in Greece and abroad, and maintains a extensive network of cooperation with public and private entities, NGOs and research agents.

PORU implements quantitative and qualitative projects. More specifically:

  • Telephone interviews (CATI): PORU has a fully equipped telephone survey facility and could implement (CATI surveys (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing). All research processes are developed under the supervision of expert personnel, on scientific and technical fields.

  • Postal Surveys: PORU undertakes the conduct of postal surveys, using structured questionnaire in cases where the subject of the survey or the characteristics of the sample impose the sending of the questionnaires.
  • Web surveys: The survey is conducted by email notification to the respondents and it ends up by completing structured questionnaires on a site that is properly configured and supervised by PORU. Respondents visit the website and submit the answers, which in turn are stored in an appropriate database and analyzed statistically.
  • Focus groups: Response groups submit their views on the subject under research with the guidance of an experienced coordinator of the Unit. Such surveys are useful to research individual positions and attitudes in the light of the dynamics that develops during a group discussion.
  • In depth -interviews: Selected respondents participate and submit their views to a well – trained Researcher of the Unit, in order  to spontaneously record individual positions and attitudes as well as to research  the causes of specific individual behaviors.
